Although predicting the future is not a strength of mine, today I’m going to make a bold prediction – and you can hold me to it. I predict that if you own a family cottage, there will come a time when you will either make arrangements for how it will be handled by your family when you’re gone, or you will leave them with a fairly major mess to sort out.

While parents of the family cottage are alive, cottage life generally proceeds peacefully and pleasantly. Parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, and cousins all come together at “their cottage” and inter-generational memories are created.
